How many eyelids does a camel have?

Camels have three eyelids per eye (a total of six) and the reason for this is protection.  By having three eyelids the camel can protect itself from sandstorms.

Additional Camel Facts:  Camels are mammals and they have a life expectancy of up to 50 years.  Their genus name is “Camelus” and there are two types of the camel species:  dromedary or Arabian.  The camel is a native of the desert areas of  the Western, Central, and Eastern parts of Asia.  Camels have humps and it has been rumored that these humps store water but that rumor is not true.  The hump/s on a camel’s back are just fatty deposits.
